British boxer Anthony Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Fatal Road Accident
The British boxer Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, officials in Lagos confirmed on late Wednesday. The 36-year-old was involved in a car accident outside Lagos on Monday, a tragic incident that took the lives of two of his close associates.
Healing from Light Wounds
Joshua had remained in the hospital while recovering from minor injuries, representatives confirmed on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement on X that Joshua was declared medically stable to leave and heal privately.
“Joshua and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two friends who passed away as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the official remarked.
A Tribute to the Fallen
Those who lost their lives were identified as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. It was also noted that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and deeply emotional over the tragic loss of his two close friends.”
This update on his health follows the boxing community offered its support for the champion in the wake of the devastating accident.
