Hulu is Producing a Popular Game TV Series from the Producers of Alien: Earth and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

The latest action-packed instalment that players experienced was Far Cry 6, that featured Giancarlo Esposito as the antagonist, Antón, and was released back in October 6, 2021. In the game universe, it is famous for delighting in action and madness with the same glee, all while weaving captivating, socially charged tales. No wonder then that the network’s decision for a Far Cry seasonal program attracted two producers whose projects have embodied all of those things.

What to Expect

Based on Ubisoft's popular video game franchise, the short-run anthology series is set to premiere on Hulu and be produced by FX Productions. The series will also parallel the video games' format by featuring a different setting and group of personalities in every instalment.

Key Producers

Rob Mac, producer of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the talent behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will act as showrunners on the series via their labels, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be partnered by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

We’ve shared excellent relationships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a total six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are overjoyed that they are working together for Far Cry,” stated Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a statement. “I have no doubt that they will present this story in a way that is original, gripping, and incredibly entertaining. We also want to thank our associates at Ubisoft for entrusting us with this cherished property.”

Upcoming Developments

Mac will also feature in the show, but as of now, we are unsure of what role that might entail. Hawley's Alien: Earth was just greenlit for more episodes, with FX and Disney signing a new overall deal with the creator.

“Having the opportunity with Noah Hawley is a dream realized,” remarked Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been incredibly supportive, placing faith in us with one of the most renowned video-game universes ever created. And throughout this process, my FX team continues to lift me up with their constant trust and assistance.”

“What appeals to me about the Far Cry game series is that it’s an anthology-style program. Each game is a take of a theme, the same way every series of Fargo is a version on a theme,” noted Hawley. “To produce a epic action show that can evolve from season to season, while always examining the essence of society through this multifaceted and chaotic viewpoint, is a dream come true. I’m thrilled to collaborate with Rob and bring our shared unconventional, visionary style to the television.”

A release window for when we can expect the new Far Cry show has not yet been revealed. The series will be available on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus internationally.
