The Renowned Musician Encourages Public Help to Send Palestinian Solidarity Track to UK Holiday Chart Peak.

A campaign is aiming to send a traditional song from Palestine to the Christmas number one spot. The project aims to provide aid to Gaza's residents while also showcasing Palestinian cultural expression.

A Possibility for Support and an "Unlikely Coup"

Renowned figure Brian Eno, who features on the track, stated that the release called 'Lullaby' represents a moment to show solidarity with Palestinians over the Christmas period. He noted the potential for an unlikely festive coup.

“It would be incredible if that came to pass, yes,” he stated. “I won't be completely let down if it doesn't manage to, Christmas singles are a unique phenomenon.”

Powerful Theme of Dignity and Freedom

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who features in the adaptation of a folk song called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the piece's defiant core message.

“It occupies a deeply meaningful spot for many individuals,” Barghouti said. “The essence is that I would choose to perish with honor than exist without freedom. That’s the main theme of the song; we desire to exist a life of dignity that we deserve as Palestinians.”

Recording Origins and Contributing Musicians

The single was laid down in the wake of a major charity concert held in the autumn. First conceived to be captured during the live event, the piece was omitted from the lengthy event due to time constraints.

The diverse array of performers featured on Lullaby features a range of prominent voices from the music world. All took part in the benefit event, which managed to collect a considerable total for charitable causes.

Creation and Launch

Lullaby was produced by a trio of music creators. The song blends a combination of the original Arabic with freshly written English words.

The organizers behind the project have stated that their objective is to generate maximum funds for a charitable pot. These proceeds will be channeled to projects in Palestine through an partnering humanitarian organization.

“There is no a fixed goal,” a representative said. “We’ll go for as much as possible. Naturally, the higher the total, the greater the impact. All proceeds are directed out to the people of Gaza.”

The reality in the territory was characterized as its extreme devastation, with a huge proportion of infrastructure reportedly levelled or seriously harmed.

“Against that backdrop, a handful of millions is unlikely to make that much difference. But I think what truly matters is primarily making this cause better known and proving that another narrative exists.”

The song is set to be released at the end of the week. Additionally, a full recording of the benefit event will be made available for streaming on a major video platform from mid-December.
